This week we were very lucky to have been the first stop on a national tour for one of our suppliers, Carmmunity, with the brand new Plug-in Hybrid Ford Transit Custom. Over the next two weeks they’ll be visiting brokers all over the country. It’s been a few years now since we’ve been able to have visits from our suppliers but it is a great opportunity for some of our staff to have good and proper look at some of the latest vehicles we lease.
The van in question was the new Transit Custom Trend powered by a 1.0L Engine and a 13.6 kWh battery which allows for up to 27 miles on pure electric and a combined range of 376 miles. The engine and battery combination emits only 70g/km of CO2 and can manage 91.7mpg!
The Trend trim level also comes with a strong array of features to really add some value to it. As with all Fords the heated front windscreen comes as a standard option but inside the cabin you also get an 8” colour touchscreen in the centre and heated front seats! A couple of other notable features were Air-Con, DAB and Sat Nav with ICE Pack 24 and the Visibility Pack which gave it a rear-view camera and auto high beam.
The timing was perfect for the team to get a hands on look as the Manchester Clean Air Zone draws closer. The proposed changes will see a charge of £10 to non-compliant vans (light goods vehicles) every day! This could add up to a charge of up to £310 a month for some drivers. You’d not be alone to think the clean air zone could be a city center only but it is in fact planned to span the whole of Greater Manchester.
