KIA sets up its Special Editions stall for summer

With the summer season in full swing, KIA UK has set up its stall of special summer editions across six of their models, all of which are available to order now.

The new, eye-catching additions join the Picanto, Stonic, Ceed, Sportage and Stinger ranges, and KIA has also enhanced its Ceed range with new ‘2 Nav’ editions and the availability of automatic transmission on its ‘GT-Line’ range.

Picanto Titanium Edition

Picanto ‘Titanium Edition’

Configured for a younger audience, or for those younger at heart, the Picanto Titanium Edition has – as it says on the tin – titanium silver metallic paint. There’s also rear privacy glass, 15-inch alloy wheels, LED bi-function projection headlights, LED daytime running lights, front fog lights and LED rear light clusters.

Inside, there’s black faux leather upholstery with gloss black trim accents for the door armrests, air vents and lower centre console trim. A seven-inch touchscreen display with RDS and DAB radio takes centre stage and includes Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, voice control and reversing camera.

The Picanto Titanium Edition is available with either the 1.0-litre 66hp multi-point injection (MPi) petrol engine paired with a five-speed manual ‘box, or the 1.25-litre 83hp MPi four-speed automatic.

Kia Stonic MaxxStonic ‘Maxx’

The KIA Stonic range welcomes a new member in the ‘Maxx’ special edition, which replaces the outgoing ‘Mixx’ edition. The ‘Maxx’ features Clear White paintwork and a contrasting Midnight Black roof.

Adding more style are black door mirrors, rear privacy glass and unique 17-inch graphite alloy wheels. Unique within the Stonic range, the ‘Maxx’ features faux black leather upholstery, together with a black leather steering wheel and gearshift.

Other key equipment upgrades include a reversing camera, satin chrome interior door handles and LED rear combination lights. The ‘Maxx’ is powered by the popular 1.0-litre T-GDi 118hp petrol engine, paired with either a six-speed manual or seven-speed automatic DCT gearbox.

Kia Ceed GT-Line Lunar Edition

Ceed ‘GT-Line Lunar Edition’

A new special edition has been revealed for the Ceed range and features premium Lunar Silver metallic paintwork as standard, eye-catching LED bi-function headlights and a panoramic sunroof.

The interior features black cloth seat trim with faux leather bolsters with integrated GT-Line logo and grey stitching that you’ll find on other ‘GT-Line’ variants, as well as heated seats and steering wheel and a leather D-cut steering wheel with grey stitching.

Available with the five-door hatchback body style, the ‘GT-Line Lunar Edition’ is offered with the 138hp 1.4-litre T-GDi engine coupled to either a six-speed manual or seven-speed automatic DCT gearbox.

Kia Ceed

Ceed range upgrades

In response to customer demand, KIA has introducing additional variants to the Ceed line-up, with a new ‘2 Nav’ grade joining the range. Offering the same equipment as the well-equipped ‘2’ grade, the newcomer additionally features an eight-inch touchscreen satellite navigation system as standard.

The Ceed ‘2 Nav’ is available in two body styles – a five-door hatchback and Sportswagon estate – with either the 118hp 1.0-litre T-GDi petrol engine, or the 114hp 1.6-litre CRDi diesel unit, each equipped with a six-speed manual transmission.

Other additions to the Ceed model line-up include a ‘GT-Line’ derivative equipped with the 134hp 1.6-litre CRDi diesel engine paired with a seven-speed automatic DCT gearbox. The new combination is available to order now and replaces the ‘3’ grade 1.6 CRDi 114hp seven-speed automatic DCT.

Kia Sportage

Sportage ‘Platinum Edition’

A new addition to the Sportage range is the ‘Platinum Edition’, available in two exclusive exterior colours with leather upholstery as standard. Dark Penta Metal paint is paired with black leather upholstery, while Lunar Silver – the first time the colour has been available outside of the ‘GT-Line’ and ‘GT-Line S’ ranges – carries grey leather seats.

The Sportage ‘Platinum Edition’ is offered with the 134hp 1.6-litre GDi petrol engine, coupled with a six-speed manual gearbox.

Based on the grade ‘2’ Sportage, additional equipment includes LED bi-function headlights with adaptive lighting system, LED rear lights, a front wiper de-icer, chrome inserts on the side sills and silver painted front and rear skid plates. For added safety, a Forward Collision Avoidance assist (FCA) system for both city and pedestrian detection is included as standard, in addition to Blind-Spot Collision Warning (BCW).

Kia Stinger

Stinger ‘Blue Edition’

KIA has added a new ‘Blue Edition’ to its range of the excellent Stinger saloon. Based on the 2.0-litre T-GDi 242hp GT-Line S, the Blue Edition features the stunning new Electric Blue paint as standard.

In addition to the standard GT-Line S specifications, Blue Edition models also benefit from exclusive 19” alloy wheels and Electronic Controlled Suspension. All Blue Edition models are fitted with black leather upholstery as standard.

Electric Blue paint is also an optional addition on the more powerful 3.3-litre T-GDi GT S models and is available with both Black & Grey interior options.
