The New Nissan Juke Hybrid 2022

The Nissan Juke SUV has proved a popular family car since its introduction to the market in 2010. Moreover, this model was hailed as the car that started the mini-crossover trend. Now in 2022, we see Nissan improve its efficiency with the all-new Juke Hybrid.

Let’s check out the details of this new model:

Exterior features

When you compare the old Nissan Juke to newer models, there are still similarities in the look and design of the car. However, some styling updates include a front grille mesh design that assists aerodynamics.

Different trim levels provide other styling features such as the N-Connecta model having 17-inch alloy wheels and a rear spoiler. You can also choose two new colours – Magnetic Blue and Ceramic Grey.

At the top of the range, the Tekna+ has striking 19-inch alloy wheels and two-tone paint.

The Premiere Edition is another trim option with a few extra additions, including tinted headlights, gloss black alloys and detailing on the roof. Although this is a limited run, and there are only 750 available!

Interior features

On the inside, the Nissan Juke Hybrid looks a lot like the regular models. However, it isn’t without its stylish accents.

Up front in the driver’s seat, you’re presented with new instruments that showcase handy power usage and charging information. Alongside this sits a 7-inch screen for all your infotainment needs. Want to listen to tunes? The updated Bose sound system certainly packs a punch.

Another small detail but nonetheless stylish is the interior personalisation options depending on trim level. For example, the N-Connecta showcases grey stitching on luxe black leather seats and gear lever console in gloss black.

Looking for ample space? Then you’ve come to the right place. While the boot space has reduced somewhat due to its hybrid on-board tech, you still have plenty of passenger room. Plus, with the seats down, the Juke Hybrid has up to 1237 litres of space available. You also have the option of a few storage extras such as a luggage board and 60/40 split rear seats for extra space.

Performance

Perhaps the Nissan Juke Hybrid isn’t something you’d automatically rank in the performance stakes. But it fairs well for its class.

Under the bonnet, there’s a 1.6-litre engine. This produces around 93bhp. Plus, Nissan’s new electric motor creates a maximum of 48bhp, bringing a total of 141bhp from the powertrain.

Fuel economy

One of the main selling points of the new Nissan Juke Hybrid is the car maker states this model has up to 19% more efficiency. This is partly due to its e-Pedal, which offers the option of one pedal control. It works by using the accelerator pedal to both accelerate and decelerate. The regenerative braking in this process provides power to the battery.

If you drive shorter distances, the battery is also said to power up to 80% of urban journeys. Plus moving up to around 34mph around town, you’ll most likely stay in electric mode, but the range is limited.

So, there’ll be fewer stops at a fuel station. But what do you get for the gallon? The brand states a claimed 56.5mpg, but of course, this is reliant on how often you drive in all-electric mode, speed and driving conditions.

To improve fuel economy further, the Nissan Juke has several drive modes for optimum efficiency. Eco mode is, of course, the best option to get more miles out of one charge and tank of fuel. Standard mode brings the balance between performance and fuel economy. However, in Sport mode, you’ll swap efficiency for maximum driving capabilities.

Smart driver assistance technology

Like other modern cars, the Nissan Juke Hybrid has a host of on-board systems for driver convenience. For example, the Nissan ProPilot is said to make your commute less stressful with driver-assist technology.

Intelligent braking monitors everything around you to reduce collisions and lets you know when to slow down. It’ll also provide emergency braking if a cyclist or pedestrian crosses your path.

Another smart system includes an Around View Mirror. With a 360-degree view of your car, it makes light work of awkward parking spaces.

Other helpful systems include high beam assist, traffic sign recognition, forward collision warning, blind-spot intervention and rear traffic alerts.

Infotainment

In the new Juke Hybrid, you’re connected as soon as you step into the car (once you’ve set it up!). In addition, this model supports Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™. Plus, the NissanConnect Services App allows you access to tons of features of your new car.

Need to charge your phone or devices? USB inputs in both the front and rear make it easy to stay connected. You don’t have to worry about using the touchscreen while driving either, as Google Assistant and Alexa are activated with voice requests.

What’s it like to drive?

The Nissan Juke Hybrid is a popular choice for a family car, as it provides a sturdy and comfortable driving experience. Of course, this model might not fit the bill if you’re looking for more performance. But it does hold its own in its class for good road holding.
